I can't wait to have a wall switch for that light - one I can reach from out on the steps or inside. Usually I'm all for simplicity but climbing in and then groping around the ceiling for that switch... ugh.
My era rig has a similar sounding switch panel, but it's on the (small bit of) wall just aft of the bathroom door sort of at hip level. However it only has switches for the step well light/outside light/handle light; the light under the awning; and the dump lights. I never use the latter two. Not a bad idea to re-purpose one for now (and maybe for permanent if the problem is for some reason behind the shower.

I found the fuse while i was dismantling the pilar behind the drivers seat to install the solar kit. There is an inline fuse coming off the low voltage unit behind the drivers seat that feeds the rear entry light. I replaced the fuse that was blown and everything works again. Its odd that only that one light is fed from that wire and fuse but thats what i found.

Wow, good sleuthing. Mine didn't have anything like that, either in the Chinook drawings or in real life (I have removed the LVD and re-done all the "big" wiring, so I'm sure there was no fuse on mine).
Oh, but you know, I can think of one reason why it might have been wired like that!
You know how there is the "store" switch that you'd think was a coach battery shut off? Well that is fed through the LVD. Aaaand, contrary to what you (or at least I) would think, that shut of does NOT shut everything off. A few things are left powered. I don't know them all for sure (since I have removed that whole system and maybe it varies by year), but I think it was the CO detector, propane detector, and some lights by the door (presumably so you could come and go in the coach and see even if it was in "store" position).
SO, if your entry light was one of those things that doesn't go off with the "store" switch, and so it was wired to the "roundhouse" of the LVD separately, then it would have been unfused if they had not put a separate fuse on (since the brown box panel wiring/fuses would have been out of the picture).
So maybe that's the why of it (?)
