Sounds like the controller board. I would recommend the Dinosaur card for anyone with any fridge problems that still has the original card. It seems to be a much more robust controller.

Just ordered a Dino board. I will install that next week and re-test, give me a good opportunity to blow / vacuum the access area to the back of the fridge and make sure my vent is all cleared out.

I received the dino board and installed it this morning. I think at this point I will say this is a confirmed fix. Good instructions came with the board. I did have to make a new ground for one of the pins on the board but that was no big deal. Once install was complete I powered the fridge on and it came right to and auto selected AC and hasn't kicked off. Freezer was already down to 5 degrees and fridge down to 33 about an hr ago. I am going to let it run all night through tomorrow. The same time I ordered a new anode for the water heater since I didn't know when it was last done. Glad I did

Looks like you got your money's worth out of the anode rod there!

I am almost a 100% sure the original owner didn't know there was a sacrificial anode that needed to be changed out annually. Luckily the water heater has low hours on it so there wasn't a ton of water flowing through it. I used my water heater wand and de-scaled the inside of the tank. Did get a fair amount out of it but i am hoping no real damage occurred. Hey at least there is a fresh rod in it now. I have never seen one that didn't have SOMETHING on it

That thing was toast.

Glad to hear the fridge is working.
FYI In case it wasn't ever done there was a safety recall on Dometics that is free of charge at any authorized Dometic dealer. You can tell if it was by the sheild installed around the flue area.

I am happy to report that the fridge has been working continuously for almost 24 hrs now.
Thanks for the heads up about the recall campaign, This is what my flue area looks like. Is this the recall shield?

I can't see the attachment... need admin help, or it is my issue?
Edit: Nevermind. The pic shown up after a few seconds. It looks like the one that has been installed. I would check the label on the shield to make sure it has the updated label. Anyone else who can confirm will be good (I just do this from memory of what mine looks like.).

Ideally, we should confirm the recall upgrade by calling Dometic. They keep the record of which rig (VIN) has the recalled performed, by whom, and when. There should be label on the shield, but I am not sure. If in doubt, get it from the horse's mouth
