Some general battery and solar questions

I hope it is does not sound insulting, but make sure the generator is not running either. I would also disconnect the chassis power (starter battery), as well as all the power from the coach. The solar panel can give you a little sparks if the negative cable is not removed with the rest of the coach power. When it come to electricity, I am a bit paranoid.
