Took another quick mid-week fishing trip into GW National Forest. Arrived around 11pm after getting lost for an hour, the back roads not marked well at all. Woke up to 18* but toasty warm at 66* inside, once up turned up to 70* to lay around and get set for the day....it still feels new to me to not deal with all the tent issues pre-Chinook. Soooo nice:)
Went to turn on van to see temp and battery dead, ooops left lights on. However, jump option from Coach batteries saved the day. Also, really need to get backup camera, I had to drive quite a ways at one point before I could find area I could safely turn around without risk of backing down hill.
Woke up to view in first pic and spent day chasing Brookies on 3-wt glass rod but unfortunately they were not cooperating, I think this is my first zero Brookie day I can remember....temps were below freezin all day with super fast water due to lots of rain, so this could have kept them letharic and tucked away.
Forest Service roads were very narrow and passing occasional pickup was interesting.....here are couple pics of area but NO fish....
Morning outside camper, nice surprise as it wa pitch black when /i pulled in. Camp spots were basically wider shoulder area of FS roads
