That makes sense. I guess RV is different from regular vehicle. Mine is 2000 too, but it is older, and has many differences. The bumpers, service locations, and some of the interior is different from one that most other 2000s.

I would call it slate blue. Not really blue, not really gray. We wanted the floor plan like yours with the dinette, but could never find one, and when you do come upon them for sale, they don't last long. We are both 5'7", and wanted to throttle each other trying to sleep in the wee jack-knife sofa. We now have a daybed where the clubs/table were, and removed the backrest of sofa so that is like a daybed. Installed a Lagun table mount for table. Much better. Have fun with yours!

Incomplete vehicles (i.e. E350 Cutaway) are sold to manufacturers who then upfit and sell as whatever year model it currently is. Kind of complicated when it's a smaller volume manufacturer like Trail Wagons, who converts to an RV, and then there's a 4x4 conversion done elsewhere.

Either way, it's a cool rig. The 4x4 7.3 Chinooks seem to be coming out of the woodwork right now!

I saw Tomsprops thread, these two look very much identical and made around the same time. Makes me wonder if these two saw each other in the factory....lol

Welcome! And congrats on your new-to-you Chinook.

As mentioned above, it's very common for an RV to have one year's chassis, and the next year's RV model designation. That's because the RV mfgr.'s "year" may not start and end at the same time as the vehicle manufacturer. So, for example, about half of the "2001" Chinooks will be on the 2000 chassis, and half on the 2001 chassis. And so it goes. Some states will want to title with the chassis year, although I think they "should" use the RV year (but try telling anything to the DMV if you ever want to get your title )

My guess is that yours was converted to 4x4 after it was purchased. Reason I say that is that I don't know that I have seen any "normal" Concourse stripe schemes (like yours has) that had Chinook installed 4x4. Usually they were Baja or some other special paint scheme, I think. That's not to say it might not have been a special order.

Not that that really matters as even Chinook just used converters (Quadvan, etc.). It's not like they were whipping up 4x4 conversions in-house.

Have you shown this at all? I have a Lagun table but haven't decided how/where to mount it. Also my starboard side is kind of open to ideas right now. Would you mind starting a thread (or pointing me to an existing one if I missed it)? I'd be much obliged.
