I have the same exact ones that Skillet has, with a round plastic cap with lock/unlock icon on it, and no metal band.
I can't figure out how to remove it. Do I need to rotate the cap to specific orientation before it can be popped off? Or I just pry it off with a screw driver?

Are you saying you don't have this metal band or something different?

My new one have metal band, origianal SPD is a cap you simply pry off with screwdriver.

It has the original style, so I used a tiny screw driver to pop the cap off like 68camaro said, and it came off. The icon on the cap was difficult to read, but maybe that is due to my old eyes.
