Thanks for the heads-up on this part. It's been in my Amazon shopping cart for almost a year with it being out of stock. I got the last one on Amazon using your link but will monitor for a 2nd one when hopefully available soon. I did a Google search of the part number and apparently all the other sites that sell them link right to the Amazon page. I sent an email to the company and asked when they would be back in stock again.

Skillet, When I ordered my 2 lenses there were 3 and one left. Maybe you bought the last one but right after that it immediently said 4 more available. And now it shows none. Someone quickly scarfed up 4 lenses. Wish it was me...I would send you one.

Forget Bitcoins and Cryptocurrency - Chinook porch light lenses are the new road to wealth!!
I ordered mine almost two years ago but now I wish I'd ordered a backup. Worst case I imagine you could have a piece of Plexiglas cut to fit. I put an LED bulb in mine and its much brighter but if I ever have to replace the lens I think I'd look at a different, brighter fixture.

Do you suppose you can restore the original lens, or is it yellowed all the way through? I just did my headlights and they turned out great. Wet-sand with 1000 grit, then 2000, wipe down with alcohol, then clear coat. It went very quickly. Granted, it's a different material and thickness etc., but if you don't find a new lens for your porch light, might be worth a few minutes to see if you can cut the oxidized layer on the old one.
. I'll be getting another one soon.
With ya there. The exterior light fixture by my back door was losing a 21-year-long battle with the sun. So I removed it entirely. The faying surface was the 1/8" perimeter, so basically nothing, and it was sealed with an open-cell foam "gasket." The holes in the shell were very small; one for the wires and two more from the self-tapping screws. Spiders were the only ones finding a use for the thing. I filled the holes, and replaced the light with a solar powered LED flood light with motion sensor. I attached it with adhesive velcro so I can remove it if it craps out, and no way I'm drilling new holes for a questionable gizmo. It's not going to impress anyone, and it's very rarely used, but it looks much better, it aims down, the motion sensor is nice for a few reasons, and there's zero load on the battery bank (original was 20w). Update: It worked great until I took it off to use it for something else, set it on the bumper, forgot about it, then I backed over itBlue~Go wrote: May 10th, 2018, 7:01 pmI have not removed mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is very little faying surface, and maybe an annoyingly large hole (not sure on that though, just a hunch) .... All that to say it wouldn't bother me to put on a completely different light fixture, as long as it wasn't cheesy. I realize that's a matter of taste though.

Scott,
Thanks for the details on the porch light. I wouldn't mind one bit replacing mine with something different (the original doesn't really grab me, and I'd prefer it facing down), but it never percolates to the top of the list because I've essentially never used it. On the face of it a porch light sounds great (and I'm sure others use it all the time), but if I'm boondocking I wouldn't think of leaving a light on all night (because I like dark sky), and if I need light, then.... what about the moment I step away from the porch light? Well, that's why I'd probably be wearing a headlamp if that were the case.
I imagine I'll replace it someday. What I should do though is take it down and check the bedding. I also need to do the same for the rear door lockset/handle, as I can tell it's moving around slightly (so it can't be very weathertight). Suppose the same goes for the awning light...

A previous owner replaced the lens/light area on my porch light with a backup camera. Not the best installation of caulk all around it, but a decent area to put the camera if it fits.

Why does that second photo make me think there is an ewok in your light base trying to get out?
