inherited a 2002 Destiny shore power not charging, HELP

Post by Grier2026 »

Hello, this is my first post, my father just passed away is month and now I have the 2002 Chinook Destiny. I'm pretty handy but dealing with an RV that doesn't charge is new to me, from what I can see the shore power is not charging the batteries. Where do I start your input would be greatly appreciated .
Thank you, Grier

1st off, sorry to hear about your dad. As for the chinook, there are many systems you'll want to get to know a little. All of them are managble, just take 1 at a time. The batteries are a good place to start. Do you have a volt meter or test light? Are you able to find month/year on the batteries somewhere (figure they are good for about 5 years if normal lead acid. If you're looking for upgrades, going lithium is worth a look (they are the only way to run aircon without running the noisy generator). There is definitely a case for just getting new lead acid or ago also though.
