ebike racks

Post by terance13 »

Any updated recommendations for a two bike ebike hitch? Do we need to only use an "RV" rated rig? Anyway, whatever advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I would suggest searching for "bike rack" in the forum here, there are plenty of threads of what various people have bought and tried. The weight of ebikes will limit which options might work for you, and if you have a rear door or side door Chinook.

It would help if you'd add a signature in your profile, with your model, chassis, and year, like you see on my posts.

I wrestled with the issue of how best to carry our e-bikes on our 2004 Premier, and finally settled on mounting a Swagman heavy duty rack on a front hitch. My setup includes a mounted pair of raised “plow lights” because the regular headlights were blocked by the covers for my bikes. I also was sure to mount the bikes in such a way that they did not block air flow to the radiator and transmission cooler (I closely monitor temp with a Scan Guage II). I’ve logged more than 50,000 miles with this set up-all good.
I believe there is a post titled electric bikes and racks that describes it all, with some pictures as well.
If you have more questions, happy to help.
As for traveling with e-bikes—wouldn’t leave home without them!
