Wire Identification Help - 2003 Concourse
Hi everyone. So I’m in the early stages of my electrical upgrade (lithium, dc-dc, solar, and distribution panel with victron phoenix charger instead of usual converter/charger) and was hoping someone can identify the wires in the 2 pictures. I removed the old Parallax 7345 and labeled all the (obvious) AC and DC wires. The only 2 I’m not sure about is the orange romex, which I’m assuming is from the generator. The other one is the 2 grey wores pigtailed into a 3 amp inline fuse. This was disconnected so I have no idea what it could be. Mucho thanks in advance. Christopher

On my 2000 Concourse, one wire with the inline fuse went around the corner from the distribution panel to the propane detector at floor level (behind the left kitchen door when its open), while the other was spliced into a wire connected to the DC panel. Do you still have a (working) propane detector there? Does it run on 12V, or batteries?
I agree, the romex AC wire seems likely the generator, though mine wasn't orange.

Re: Wire Identification Help - 2003 Concourse
would the generator wires have went to the transfer switch? the wires from the generator are 10/2

I do believe the orange romex went to the ATS. Don't know why I didn’t take a picture before I took out all those wire nuts.
Ahh, propane detector. That makes sense. We inherited our Beasty (our nickname for her) from my wife’s late father. Apparently he removed the original and put in a battery powered co2 detector there, that not only blocked the kitchen door from opening fully but would randomly fall out. I never understood why he put in 2nd co2 detector when he still had the original. In any case I appreciate the info.

Re: Wire Identification Help - 2003 Concourse
You really, really, want to have a propane detector there. It is across from the stove and low down (propane is heavy). It once saved my life when a burner had gotten stuck and wasn't quite closed - if the alarm hadn't gone off shortly after we went to sleep, my girlfriend and I may have died.

I already bought one and plan on putting it in. Thanks!
