Hello,
I have a 2000 Chinook 2 wheel drive gas engine on a E-350 Ford chassis. It has a brand new battery .I am having an issue with starting my vehicle. Before I turn the ignition all the lights, radio, everything tied to the engine battery work. Once I turn the ignition, I hear a click which I believe is my battery separator kicking on. At this point the car goes dead, will not start and the lights, radio, etc... do not work. I then have to hook up my battery powered jumper cables. Immediately upon hooking them up I hear the click again from the battery separator and the vehicle starts up no problem. Once I turn off the vehicle I must start the process all over again. Could it be a failing circuit breaker, or a bad fuse? I assume the battery separator is working because it is doing its job? I actually had a similar thing happen with my coach batteries this past winter. I had to change a the circuit breaker under the driver side seat (outside the vehicle). Also the ground cable that is fastened to the frame had detached. Any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Jesse
Bad circuit breaker, bad battery separator or a fuse blown???
