Rear entry door

Post by Inovermyhead »

Hello, forum!

I have been on a quest for a replacement door for my 1998 Concourse. I have worked with two RV repair places and both have decided that they will be unable to help me further. This may be a long post, but it has been a long and frustrating journey.

I reached out to Lippert on reading the Forum post string from Mrs. Gabbi about obtaining a replacement door for her 1997 Concourse. I sent them pictures of the door and the door label from that post and explained my situation. They refused to deal directly with me and told me I would have to get a dealer to complete a spec sheet and provide it to them so they could fabricate a door. After repeated attempts to get the two repair places to complete the spec sheets, the second one finally did yesterday send the completed spec sheet to Lippert. In response, Lippert then told them to reach out to the OEM.

Obviously, the OEM, which I explained repeatedly to Lippert, no longer exists and because the most recent place (who were extremely kind in their attempt to help me) was unable to make contact, they have informed me that they will be unable to help me any further.

So, I am reaching out to this community to see if, by chance, there is anyone out there who has advice for me or even a rear entry door they would be willing to sell to me for my RV. I am so completely discouraged and at a loss for what to do from here.

Thanks in advance!!!

There are many retail sellers you can buy from on-line without much fuss. Just Google the part number: V000051931 and choices will show up. Here is one with a really good price:

As Gabi noted, the standard ones have the obscure glass window, but it is easily replaced, and she had the part number info in her post. Her replacement has a built-in shade, which some are seeing as an improvement:

Sorry for your frustration. RV service vendors all seem to be frustrating do work with.

caconcourse-

Thanks for your reply. Isn't it funny that when I contacted Lippert with that information, they told me the door wouldn't fit my unit.

I guess the next step may be to just take a leap of faith and order one on line in the hopes that it will work. I might be able to enlist the help of some friends to remove the old and install the new.

Thanks, again.

I had rot issues with my rear door. Replacements didn't match up with size and color. Used original exterior panel. Rebuilt interior myself with materials from Home Depot (foam & plywood) and roll of vinyl from Amazon. Not too difficult a project. It is actually more sturdy than original.
