Mini Faux fireplace

Post by Fjb »

Does anyone have one in their Chinook? The furnace in our 2001 Chinook Concourse works great and we also have a small heater that also works great when plugged in but we miss having the ambiance of a fireplace. Our thoughts are that there are two options:
1. A Fireplace DVD for our 12V TV. This would look nice and have a fireplace crackling but no heat option.
2. A mini fireplace with heater option but would only work when plugged in.
Experiences, recommendations and photos would be appreciated.
Thanks, Fred and Julie

Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" on this...but I never understood the fake fireplace thing in an RV. Even the large versions in the high-end Class A behemoths look out of place (IMO). How about the ambience of a "real fire" outside in the fire pit next to your rig?
What's next...waterfalls and koi ponds in the wet bath?

I like the idea of a mini fireplace, but there's so little room. My sister uses the DVD since they are not tv watchers, and it gives some semblance of the real thing, and very comforting.
It almost seems like heat coming from it too, but I know its a psychological illusion.
BTW, I do have a mini waterfall for the water trickle sound that is calming at night. It's very small, @7ci, sits on the kitchen counter and plugs into 110V.
No fish yet but that's a good idea! I've seen fake ones that swim around a small bowl I think by magnets lol.

Flameless Fireplace Lantern $20

Thanks, Clay, for the link to carolwrightgifts.com

I just love having it on my bedroom dresser for now.
Can't wait to move it out to my Chinook once it warms up here in Central Oregon.
It's plastic & takes 3 AA batteries.
