2002 Destiny - Outdoor Shower leaking

Post by CaliforniaLG »

Hello!
The outdoor shower head on our Chinook Destiny leaks when we turn on the water pump. Any recommendations on a fix/a good one to replace the outdoor shower head with? We are hoping we just need to replace the old shower head/hose but we are new and still learning!

Best,
Lauryn

Probably something that need tightening, or a cracked piece that need to be replaced. Find the offending piece, and either tighten it or replace it.

If there is a leak all the time, the faucets are not closing all the way. Not a problem with the shower head. If the faucet is on, it is normal for the shower head to flow a little even when the button on the handle is turned "off" . This is to allow some flow to keep the temperature stable. Same with the inside shower.

If you need to replace the faucet, get an "RV shower faucet", which has a diverter and no spout. Easy to find for less than $20, but hard to install because of the limited access from inside. Might be able to repair a faucet with new washers or something, but depends on the type. You can remove the handles and look to see how the fixture works.
