Replacing front two seats

Post by NookieAsk »

Our Chinook is a 1975 Dodge 18+2. Original two front seats. Frankly they are in good shape.

However seat belts are lap only, not shoulder. Front to back adjustment is minimal. They do not swivel.

Has anyone had experience upgrading front seats? If so what seats did you use? Also any pitfalls to avoid or tips on doing so appreciated.

The seats and front/back slide adjustment bolt to a pedestal, about 12 inches tall, that in turn bolt through the floor. Drivers seat pedestal has a forward rake to it of about 2 inches (picture a parallelogram) while passenger side seat is vertical/square. Thus passenger side sits back further as a result, needed because center motor housing actually is offset some to the passenger side so a bit cramped.

Thank you,

Henry
