Neat little rig

Check out this cool little rig. Its not a Chinook but its a survivor and a neat little truck.

Those 4wd Sunraders go for big $. Cool rigs for sure.

I wouldnt mind having one. Course i would have to swap out the toyota engine and drivetrain for a V-8 of some type.

dougm, why swap the engine? One of the appeal of these is the reliability and high MPG of the Toyota engine, but I guess it does not have enough power/torque for crawling rocks?

Did not know how bad they are since I never use any 1/4 ton trucks.

No, not crawling rock in a RV. I take good care of my gears, and do not want to risk damaging my truck if I don't need to. Not an adventure type of person unless I am cornered, and there are plenty of great places that I can get to without need to crawling over rocks.

Im an old greasy gearhead, i dont think the same as you do. Those little engines are great for flatlanders that stick to the pavement and only go on an occasional weekend excursion. Me on the other hand, i want to go up and over the mountain with out smashing my foot threw the floor pan. I want to pass that semi truck as expeditiously as possible, occasionally i like to pull a trailer loaded full of whatever garbage i decide i need to drag along with me on any given trip, ect... Fuel mileage is great, lots to be said for it, but not when im bucking a 50 mph headwind with my foot smashed halfway threw the floorboard at 30 mph on the interstate. Thanks but i will pass on the nostalgia aspect and the great mileage for raw power and getting where im going expeditiously even if it costs me more in fuel. :lol:
