Need help with replacing generator muffler

Post by terance13 »

We just got a 2001 Premier and it needs a generator muffler. All the identification markings are worn off. Our local Cummings/Onan dealer can't help me unless his has this info. Can one of you seasoned RV veterans help me? Thanks

In your closet there is a sticker with all your appliances and accessories listed. You will find your generator information on this if it was installed at factory.

I don't see that label in the closet. There is a label but I don't know how to attach it to this reply. Thanks

Yes...there is a sticker but it is so faded. If we hold a flashlight at an angle, we see something stamped:

4 K Y ? F A 2 6 1 0 0 0 8 D 0 0 0 8 7 ? We're not sure what some of the characters are...so I put "?"

Does that help?

Thanks

If you call Onan, they should be able to verify what each of the number/letter means. With the model (KY) and the spec (letter A to R maybe?), they should be able to find the part number. They call mine "KY-FA" but I don't know if that is spec F, A or the last letter, which is an H on mine.
