Upgrade for PM problem

Post by Manitou »

I will be attempting to upgrade the forum software (phpbb 3.2.9 to 3.3) today. Earlier today I finally found the problem with the version of PHP. So now that we are running a slightly newer version of that, I should we able to do the phpBB upgrade. There is a fairly high chance of a problem with anti-spam/scammer counter measures. That pain would be for new members though. After the upgrade I'll attempt to create a fake new user to test things out.

Well, as you can probably tell, we are on a new version of the forum code. It did not go smoothly. Over the next coming days I'll put our customization back in. At least none of the content was lost.

I really appreciate your efforts in maintaining this site, Manitou.

I still can't batch-delete PMs. Still have to do them individually.

Thanks, Manitou! You are rocking it.

I could tell something happened because I had to re-log in, and no photos top left. Other than that everything is fine so far. I have not tried to batch delete PM's though (but I see Scott's report).

Thanks again. You are appreciated!

I'm not surprised... it was a known bug carried over from 1 version to the next (I guess), but there is a fix for it in this version. I have to dig into how to actually apply it. Coming soon.

I wondered why the upgrade asked me if I wanted to delete user "chin_k" (hahah.. I got jokes too)

We all know who is the king among us, Manitou, unless we are color blind.

hahaha.. I didn't even do that color thing. The default setting for the forum software did it for admins. Want to volunteer to be an admin?
