Propane light says full but is empty

Just curious Flame, as I'm catching up on many older threads to learn about my rig better.
Was your propane tank indeed empty and the gauge was faulty?
My info center seems to be accurate, but sometimes the lights act funny.

I had this problem with a new Manchester G12846 Remote OHM Sender level gauge when replacing my old propane tank. This gauge simply snaps into place over the appropriate tank fitting and is spliced into the existing wiring up to the stovetop info center display. There is no electrical polarity (plus/minus wires) to figure out as the gauge is a simple rheostat.

The external gauge works by coupling its bar magnet (receiver) to another magnet (sender) connected to a float inside the tank. So, if the gauge is snapped on with the sender-receiver magnet pair mis-aligned 180 degrees out of phase you will read Empty when Full and vice versa.

It’s simple to spin the gauge’s receiving magnet 180 degrees and refit the unit to read correctly. Be warned however, the plastic clamps on the removable gauge are brittle and easily broken.

Astro mine was empty of propane. A friend told me it could be registering air because I had left the valve open. Don't really know but it is empty of propane.
