Color Code

Post by Big Beast »

There is a Trail Wagons sticker on the drivers side door which displays the color code of the body paint. Does anyone know what manufacture of paint was used? Is the code universal?

I am not sure, but my guess is that the code is Ford specific. Anyone else?

If it is a Trail Wagons sticker and you can still read it, I would take a picture of it for reference before it disappears. The codes are universal, mine had PPG color codes and there are many cross-reference sites available to convert PPG codes to other standard codes. The Ford color code is on the Ford vehicle sticker, on mine the Ford paint code is YZ, which is a much used white.

Tried several times to match paint with the color codes. Ended up taking the camper to local auto parts store. They had a scanner that matched color perfectly. Spray cans were around $30 but will save you a lot of time and effort trying to use original paint codes.
