google smart ads

Post by Manitou »

Google released a new "smart ad" feature that just enabled. So far, it kinda sucks. I'll let it run a while and see if it gets smarter.

get out.

nah I'm just joking. Ads were just the only way I could think come up with to get the site to pay for itself. Some day I may find a plugin or something for a "tip jar".. but I'm not sure where to start with that.

Okay I'm gone.

I'm kidding too. I disabled ABP here so I can do my share. Some sites are unusable they have so many ads. Doesn't look bad so far....

BTW Thanks for keeping the site going! :)

Anyone see Korean ads on this site, or I am the only one? They need smarter algorithm, since it is not going to do them any good.

ha.. that's a new one. I don't control what they put in the ads. There is a little "x" in the top corner of the ad though. If you click it you can provide some feed back to their system. If something really bothers folks, let me know and I'll see what I can do about telling their system to exclude that category.

As far as I know, they read cookies on your computer from previous internet activity. If you have no cookies at all, I guess they take a shot in the dark.
