Re: 1978 G30 Concourse questions on restoration

The weight is about 7k I am thinking. It will actually double power and torque with the LS swap and overall reliability. So MPG should be 17 or so. But the 400 with a sniper and a 700r4 does the same however I might have to swap cam and heads. Carbureted it's 240 something HP The LS swap is more or...

It's coming along very nicely! Really cool seeing a later dash in there.

What will you be doing for cab flooring?

Re: 2000 Chinook Premier Loose Outlet

In this pic you'll see a rotating clip at the upper left and lower right. These hold the outlet in place. From the OP's pic, it looks like one of those has broken or maybe the screw came out. In these panel-mount RV-type outlets, the box and receptacle are one unit. The solid core wires go into the ...

Not boring at all. It's just a bit of a departure from the typical content in this forum. I think it's difficult to really grasp the magnitude of your project. It's enormous.

Keep it coming, please.

Re: 1995 Chinook major makeover

You're zoomin' right along! Great spot for that shifter; It looks just right.

What are your plans for the motor? Is it already built? Big boost, or mellow and mild?

What do you have planned for exhaust? Something quiet RV-style, or more of a diesel bro setup lol?

Thanks for sharing.

Re: 1995 Chinook major makeover

Nice. That's awesome.

Any concern with the clearance between the turbo and heater box? I'm guessing it'll be a pretty mellow build on the motor since it's an RV 8-)

Re: 1995 Chinook major makeover

I expected the 12V to sit a lot higher. Those are tall motors. It looks like you have no issue with vertical clearance.

... But will you have to hack the doghouse to get it to clear the rear?

Where will the shifters end up?

Looks great so far. Keep it up!
