Re: 2001 Chinook 4x4 Concourse Front Axel?

Is it a coil spring or leaf spring front end? If it's leaf the axle should be either a Ford Dana 50 or Dana 60. If it's coil then it should be a Ford super 60 that Ford started using on their trucks in 2005. If you call Craig he may be able to help you. He used to run Salem Kroger the last number I ...

Re: Diesel Chinooks

I rebuilt my 2005 chinook Eagle on a 2010 E350 Super Duty 6.0 Diesel chassis. Pulls my 8500 lb race trailer with no problem, and i get about 12 mpg towing I get about 16-18 MPG not towing. Not to be a dick but I don't believe your rig gets 16-18 MPG, not even if it's going down hill with a tail win...

Thank you for being a guinea pig for us. It is great that you came back and let us know the result. You will help the next Baja Bilo . Did you have any issue with the speedometer, or any dramatic change in fuel economy? Glad this will help someone down the line. My speedo is about 3 mph off. If it ...

Re: Tires

Well after not really getting any definite answers about if 235/85/16 tires will fit a stock 2wd Chinook Baja I bought them anyway and put them on the rig. No issues, I drove from Boise Idaho to Fletcher North Carolina with no issues at all. If all goes well I will have a 4x4 Chinook Baja before Chr...

Re: Just picked up my first chinook.

I was thinking Weldtec. Did not realize they don't deal with this anymore. Too bad. Yeah weldtec still lifts them etc. but only the 2wd ones. They told me they don’t know of anyone in this region that does the conversions anymore. Looks like I will be transporting it up north to Oregon. Unfortunate...

Re: Tires

Everyone that I have noticed here on the forum who runs 235/85r16's have their vehicle raised in some way, either 4wd or 2wd. At work we run the 225/75r16s on the e350's. Wish I had first hand knowledge about stuffing the 235/85r16 in a stock 2wd. I want to say it would have clearance issues. Do yo...
