Securing batteries in slide-out tray

Installing two new batteries for the slide-out tray, and was curious to see what others are doing for securing them in the tray...hold downs, tie downs, etc.? The PO had only wood spacers laying between the bats and metal edges of the tray to hold them in place

They don't last if they get bump around while the rig is moving, so you need some strap to tie them down. Is there slot on each side of the tray? The slots are for flat metal hooks. Mine got rusted, so I made one with Simpson Tie and nylon strap.

As I remember it (my tray resides in storage now), mine was as chin_k describes. That is, there were slots in the tray and then (stock) straps with flat metal hooks that engaged the slots. If I can find a photo I'll come back and add it. You definitely want to stop them from even getting started moving around (which as you have noted, blocks alone won't do).

After removing some duct tape, I did discover the horizontal slots for "flat hooks" on the tray. You gotta love "Previous Owners" fixes!
I ordered a heavy duty strap with flat hooks from Strapworks.com. Should be good to go. Thanks chin_k and Blue~Go!
